As part of the Spring Forward Festival 2024, on the last morning of Saturday 23 March at Staatstheater Darmstadt, there was a talk featuring Habib Ben Tanfous (Aerowaves 2024), YAV (Aerowaves 2024) and Jasna Layes-Vinovrski (Aerowaves 2016) facilitated by Emily May, in which the artists discussed what the body carries. This series, produced and presented by Dany Mitzman, documents the Spring Forward Festival 2024.
The Spring Forward Festival 2024 took place in the three German cities of Darmstadt, Wiesbaden and Mainz between 21–23 March. Led by Hessisches Staatsballett, the festival was hosted by the Staatstheaters in those cities.
Aerowaves Spring Forward Festival provides a platform for some of Europe’s most vibrant and promising choreographers to show their work to performing arts professionals and local audiences. The programme is formed of the current year's Aerowaves Twenty artists, who are invited to stay for the whole weekend, so that conversations with programmers can evolve naturally.
Local audiences have the chance to discover a great variety of brand new dance artists, most of whom are performing in their city for the first time.
